C/E Gopalan Velayudham has delivered a useful guest lecture on the “Current Challenges and the Future Trends in the Maritime Industry”. He discussed the various types of emissions from ships and the methods of controlling it. Later on, he presented the types of alternative fuels that would reduce emissions in the ships. He gave an introduction about the design of the gate rudders for increasing the efficiency of the vessel. Finally, he discussed the future of modern shipping technologies like using AI and about EEDI, EEOI, SEEMP parameters.
